Always on the hunt for a piece of jewellery that will make any ensemble sparkle? For a one-stop shop that’ll update a humdrum outfit in seconds, Stella & Dot have all the answers, whether it be a statement necklace, bold earrings or a delicate pendant.
For those who haven’t heard of Stella & Dot yet, the jewellery brand is a San Francisco based company that provides entrepreneurs with the chance to be their own stylist and also sell jewellery and accessories on a private basis. With a growing cult following (counting names like Gossip Girl actresses Blake Lively and Leighton Meester, the ever-stylish Olivia Palermo, and Kim Kardashian among its fans), Stella & Dot launched in 2006 and went global in 2012, including here in the south of France.
Last year, a friend introduced Christine Caubere to Stella & Dot and suggested they work together selling the gorgeous jewellery line, which is custom-made in New York by Stella & Dot. Christine hesitated at first (as she had never sold anything before), but after seeing the collection, she jumped at the chance and hasn’t looked back!
Christine, a busy mum of two, has lived in France for almost 20 years, beginning her working career in the French Alps and then moving to the Riviera with her husband. Even with a busy schedule and a household to run, Christine always manages to look stylish, whether it is in a leopard jacket or a hot pink sweater, she never misses a fashion beat.
The duo are now in full swing and try to have at least a minimum of four ‘trunk’ shows a month, but the number can rise to 10. These events can be held anywhere on the Côte d’Azur, from Monaco to Cannes and I went along to an event earlier this month and fell in love with entire collection. From the colourful statement necklaces, delicate bracelets, chandelier earrings, oversized rings, delicate charms, and pendants to Stella & Dot’s new range of accessories (bags, scarves etc.) there is something for everyone! Whether you are looking for a splash of colour to tie in with your white gypsy dress or perhaps a gold drop earring to wear to work then Stella & Dot is your one and only one-stop shop!
I had the pleasure of speaking to Christine at the event. “I am lucky now that I can choose my work schedule and concentrate on being an Independent Stylist for Stella & Dot,” she says. “The company is extremely helpful and really wants us to succeed and have fun at the same time. They never put pressure on us as you choose what you want to get out of this business! For me it has been a way to meet lovely people and I really enjoy helping them find the perfect jewellery for an outfit, gifts or just every day wear.”
Slightly overwhelmed and a little too excited by all the fabulous pieces on show at the event, which took place in Nacionale Beef + Wine bar and restaurant in Antibes, I ended up having to grab a catalogue and flick through at home.
“My favourite piece at the moment is the Pegasus in silver,” says Christine. “I am in love with it! You can wear in on a T-shirt to dress it down too. The Eclipse and Marina necklaces are also in my top five at the moment. The Grace earrings in gold are stunning and so elegant. I could go on forever as the collection is simply stunning and has something for all tastes.”
Their next upcoming event will be charity fashion show Let’s Talk Fashion in the Novotel Cannes Montfleury Hotel on Friday 20th March from 6pm to 10pm. This will be in support of Women’s Day 2015 and Currencies direct, in partnership with the Professional Woman´s network and the international charity Girl Rising, will be hosting the fashion show event in aid of education for young girls all over the world. This is a great opportunity to do a little bit of shopping, but also give back to your community and support women like yourselves.
The Stella & Dot summer collection, a stunning range featuring flowers and bright and lively colours, will launch on Thursday 5th March, so make sure to look them up!
